Four people charged following recovery of drugs and money in Lerwick, Shetland
Three men and a woman have been arrested and charged following the recovery of drugs and money during a proactive operation in Lerwick, Shetland.
Around 3.15pm on Thursday, 9 June, 2022, a warrant was executed at a property in Nederdale, Lerwick.
Officers searched the property and seized a quantity of cannabis, with an estimated street value of £24,000, along with a £30,000 sum of cash.
Three men - aged 34, 36, and 59 - and a 42-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
They are expected to appear at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday, 13 June, 2022.
Chief Inspector Stuart Clemenson said: Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities.
"This recovery highlights our continued commitment to disrupting drug activity and supply within our communities.
“I want to reassure people on the island that we are using every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets and to deal with those responsible."
