Fatal road crash on the A702, near Elsrickle
A 45-year-old man has died following a two vehicle road crash on the A702, near Elsrickle on Monday, 6 June.
Around 6.40pm on Monday, the 45-year-old man was riding his Honda motorcycle when it was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry being driven by a 40-year-old man.
Police and Ambulance attended, however the 45-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.
The driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.
Sgt Andy Currie from the Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“Our inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed this crash, or who has any information that will assist our investigation to contact us.
“I would also appeal to anyone driving on this road shortly before the crash happened who has dash-cam footage to get in touch. Anyone with information should contact 101 with reference 3110 of 6 June.”
