Police are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Rutherglen
Around 3pm on Sunday, 12 June, 2022, police were called to Greenhill Road , Rutherglen and found a 40-year-old man seriously injured, following a serious assault.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical but stable.
Police are treating the incident as an attempted murder
Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information. Door-to-door enquires are also being carried out.
Detective Sergeant Vicky Murray said: “This incident happened in the middle of the afternoon and I’m sure people will have heard or seen something. I am appealing to the local community to get in touch with us with any information they have, no matter how insignificant it might seem, please pass it on. We do not know the motive for this attack and it’s imperative we trace whoever is responsible for this crime.”
