Appeal following serious crash on the A71 between Hurlford and Galston
Road Policing officers in Ayrshire are appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A71, between Hurlford and Galston, which took place on Tuesday, 7 June, 2022.
The incident happened around 8.40am and involved a red Toyota Hilux pickup, towing a trailer, a Honda Civic car and a pedestrian.
The 48-year-old male pedestrian was taken by Air Ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, whilst the 69-year-old male occupant of the Honda was taken to Crosshouse Hospital. The driver of the Toyota pickup was not injured.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a tractor who was driving past the location in the direction of Hurlford around the same time.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, from the Irvine Road Policing Unit, said: “If you believe you can assist our investigation, or you were in the area and have yet to speak with police, please call 101, quoting incident 0624 of 7 June, 2022.”
