Appeal for information following wilful fire-raising in Ayr
Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Ayr.
Around 11.20pm on Saturday, 2 July, 2022, emergency services were called to a report of a fire at a property in James Street.
No-one was injured.
Residents in nearby properties were evacuated for a short time while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Holland, of Kilmarnock CID, said: "Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this reckless act.
"Our enquiries have established this fire was started deliberately and are asking anyone with any information to come forward and speak to officers.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone with potential private CCTV, dashcam or video doorbell footage.
"We believe this was an isolated incident and are following a positive line of enquiry."
