UK National Terrorist Threat Level Lowered
Earlier today, Wednesday, 9 February 2022, the Home Secretary announced that the UK’s Terrorist Threat Level has been lowered from Severe to Substantial. This means it is deemed an attack is likely.
Assistant Chief Constable Mark Williams said:
“At this time there is nothing to suggest that there is any specific threat to Scotland. However, I would remind the people of Scotland that they should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Police Scotland.”
The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) is the UK's centre for the analysis and assessment of terrorism and has responsibility for setting terrorism threat levels relevant to the UK.
