Armed robbery - Ladbrokes, Burnbank Road, Hamilton
Police are appealing for information after a man threatened staff at a bookmakers in Hamilton with what appeared to be a firearm and stole a three figure sum of cash.
The incident happened around 6.50 pm on Saturday, 5 February, 2022 at Ladbrokes in the Burnbank Shopping Centre, Burnbank Road, Hamilton.
The weapon was not discharged and no one was injured, however, staff were left very shaken by what happened.
The suspect is described as white, 5 ft 8 in height, of slim build, wearing a face mask, dark upper clothing, light coloured trousers with dark patches, light coloured footwear, a baseball cap, his hood up and was carrying a dark rucksack. He is believed to have run off in the direction of Ann Street, Hamilton.
Detective Sergeant Clare Curley Cambuslang CID, said:
"Officers are checking CCTV and carrying out local enquiries but would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.
