Appeal following serious assault on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow
Officers are appealing for information following a serious assault near a fast food premises in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, between 4.25am and 4.30am on Sunday, 6 February, 2022.
A 33-year-old man was found seriously injured near a kebab shop close to the junction with Holland Street. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious head and facial injuries.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who might have information to help trace those responsible. In particular they are keen to speak to the occupants of a white Skoda saloon taxi that was parked nearby.
Detective Constable Graham Nicolson said: “We know there were a number of people around at the time this assault happened, either walking, waiting for a taxi or attending takeaways. I would ask anyone who saw anything that could help with our investigation to get in touch.
“The man who was assaulted was wearing quite distinctive clothing including light-coloured chino trousers, a red checked shirt, a black jacket and black trainers with a white sole. He is of Asian appearance with black hair and a black beard and of slim build. I am asking anyone who might have seen him, including before he was assaulted, to please get in touch.
“In addition I am asking anyone who was driving at the time in the area and who might have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to also make contact with us.
