Appeal following serious assault in Stevenston
Detectives in North Ayrshire are appealing for information and witnesses following the serious assault of a man in Stevenston.
The incident happened around 5.30pm on Wednesday, 2 February, 2022, at Hawkhill Retail Park when a 30-year-old man was approached by a man and a woman before a verbal altercation took place. The woman then threw a drink over the 30-year-old man, who was subsequently assaulted by the other man.
The victim sustained a serious injury and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
The male suspect is described as in his 20s, 6ft in height, of athletic build with short dark hair and was wearing a blue Rangers top with white bottoms.
The female suspect is described as in her 20s, 5ft tall, of average build with blonde hair and was wearing a black jacket
Detective Sergeant Graham Cuthill, of Saltcoats CID, said: “This was an isolated incident at the retail park in which a man sustained a serious injury. We are particularly keen to speak to the member of the public who assisted the victim at the time.
“We are asking for anyone with information or anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, including those with potential dashcam footage, to please come forward.
