Appeal following road crash on the A71, Kilmarnock
Road Policing officers in East Ayrshire are appealing for witnesses following a road crash on the A71 near the Moorfield Roundabout in Kilmarnock.
The crash which happened around 7.45am on Thursday, 3 February, 2022, involved a white Vauxhall Movano pick up, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a Skoda Octavia.
The 34-year-old female driver of the Corsa and the 25-year-old female passenger were both taken to Crosshouse Hospital with serious injuries. The 25-year-old male passenger of the Movano and the 55-year-old male driver of the Skoda were also taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment and both were later released. The driver of the Movano was uninjured.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences and has been released on undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.
The road was closed for around three hours.
Sergeant Craig Beaver, of Ayrshire’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this crash and has not already spoken to officers to come forward.
“I would also urge anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch.”
