Updated statement on A85 and A82 near Crianlarich
From 3.35pm on Friday, 16 December, 2022, police received numerous reports of vehicles getting stuck on the A82 and A85 near Crianlarich due to the adverse weather conditions.
A rest centre was set-up at Crianlarich Village Hall and 58 people attended at the rest centre overnight.
Officers and partner agencies have been working to clear the roads and assist the stuck vehicles. This morning, those who were at the rest centre are returning home.
Inspector Barbara Hughes, of Stirling Police Station, said: “Thanks to the hard work of our officers and our partners we have been able to clear the roads and allow those people whose vehicles were stuck on the A82 and A85 last night to return home.
“I would also like to thank the local volunteers who assisted those at the village hall for their kindness in supplying resources and refreshments.
“Plan ahead and make sure you prepare by having sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food, water, and a fully charged mobile phone.
“Drive with caution and be aware road closures and travel delays are likely.
“Further information and safety advice can be found on the Met Office, Traffic Scotland, and local authority websites and social media channels. We urge people to check these channels before setting off.”
