Man sentenced for nine years for sexual abuse offences

A 59-year-old man has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment at the High Court in Glasgow for sexual offences.

Russell Conn was convicted on 15 November, 2022.

The offences were committed between 1995 and 2015 in North Ayrshire. The male victims, were aged between 14 and 15 years of age when the offences took place.

Detective Inspector Gavin Chisholm of the Rape and Domestic Abuse Unit said: “I would like to commend the victims for their bravery shown in coming forward, and throughout this process.

“Russell Conn committed offences against children spanning many years and we welcome today’s sentencing. Investigating the abuse of children and young people remains a top priority for Police Scotland. I hope this outcome will give confidence to anyone who is experiencing, or who has experienced abuse to come forward, knowing that we will do everything we can to arrest the perpetrators and achieve justice.”
