Five men charged following serious disorder in Kilmarnock
Five men have been arrested and charged following an operation involving officers from both Ayrshire and Lanarkshire divisions.
The day of action, supported by our partners at COPFS and Kilmarnock & Motherwell Football Clubs, was carried out yesterday following an incident of serious disorder in Kilmarnock on Saturday, 27 August, 2022, after their Scottish Premiership match against Motherwell.
A 15-year-old male was also cautioned and charged.
The five men have been released and are due to appear in court at a later date.
Inspector Iain Farmer, Ayrshire Division, said, “Police Scotland has a zero tolerance approach to football-associated violence and we take all reports extremely seriously. We will continue to work closely with the clubs to ensure the safety of everyone attending any fixtures.”
