Appeal following theft of handbag in Renton, Dumbarton
Officers are appealing for information following the theft of a handbag in Tontine Park, Renton, Dumbarton.
The incident happened around 5.30pm on Wednesday, 28 December, when a woman answered her door to a person who entered the property and took her black shoulder handbag from within.
The person left in the direction of Renton Road and is described as around 5ft 8ins, of stocky build and with their face covered.
Detective Constable Aislinn MacLeod said: “The woman initially thought she knew the person and was shocked when they made off with her handbag. Fortunately she was not hurt but has been left very upset.
“Please be careful when answering your door, especially if it is dark.
“We are asking anyone who saw person man before and after the incident to get in touch. If you were driving in the area at the time and have dash-cam that could assist, or if you have private CCTV, then please get in touch.”
