Police appealing for information following fatal crash on A77 near Newton Mearns
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal road crash on the A77 near Newton Mearns, which took place on Saturday, 20 August, 2022.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 5.15pm near to Greenhaggs Recycling Centre and involved a Ford Transit van.
A 73-year-old man, the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Sergeant Paul Mellis, from the Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time, our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased.
“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing. We know that a number of motorists and members of the public stopped to assist at the scene, prior to emergency services arriving, and I would ask anyone who has not spoken to police to please get in touch.
