Man sentenced for serious sexual assaults in Fife convicted of domestic offences
A man who was convicted and sentenced for two serious sexual assaults has appeared back in court and been convicted for domestic offences.
On Friday, 1 July, 2022, Paul Mackenzie, 21, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow and was sentenced to eight years imprisonment following the incidents which took place in Fife in 2019 and 2021.
He appeared back in court in Kirkcaldy on Friday, 12 August, 2022 and was convicted and sentenced for domestic abuse offences. He received a further six month prison sentence.
Detective Inspector Colin Moffat said: “These convictions formed part of one operation that was protracted and complex. We had a team of dedicated officers to ensure that justice was done and that the victims were suitably supported.
“I would like to take this opportunity to praise the victims for their bravery in coming forward and assisting our investigation. I hope that this sentencing provides them with a measure of closure and goes some way to giving other victims of abuse the courage to speak out.”
