Appeal for witnesses following a high value theft in Doonfoot, Ayr
Detectives are appealing for information following a break-in and theft from a property in Doonfoot, Ayr.
Around 10am on Saturday, 6 August, 2022, officers were called to a report of a theft from a premises on Northdoon Place. The theft itself is believed to have happened somewhere between 10.30am on Friday 5 August and 9am the following day. Jewellery to the approximate value of £12,000 was taken in what is believed to have been a ‘sneak-in’ theft.
Officers would like to speak to a man seen in the common close on Friday morning. He is described as being around 40-years-old, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a grey top, possibly a t-shirt, and jeans.
Detective Constable Rachel Wright-Turner said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or observed a man matching the description to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone in the area to check any dashcam footage or private CCTV and contact us if they believe they can assist.”
