Appeal following wilful fire raising in derelict building, Clydebank
Officers are appealing for information after a fire was deliberately started in a derelict building in Clydebank on Saturday, 6 August, 2022.
The incident happened around 9.45pm in Frank Downie House in Ottawa Crescent. No one was injured and the fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Detective Constable Colin Nichol, of Clydebank CID, said: “Fortunately no one was injured but this was an extensive fire and resulted in people being evacuated from their homes and a number of roads being closed for a considerable time.
“A joint Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service investigation is underway and I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious both before and after the fire started to get in touch.
“In addition, anyone who has dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist with our enquiries is asked to make contact with officers.”
