Man arrested following disturbance in Stornoway
Police in Stornoway have arrested a man following a disturbance in the Bayhead Street area on Friday, 22 April, 2022.
Officers were called around 10.15pm to reports of a man shouting and swearing. There were no reports of any injuries.
Following enquiries the 34-year-old man was traced nearby and arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court via video link on Monday, 25 April, 2022.
Sergeant Andrew Shields said: “I would like to reassure locals that this was an isolated incident. I would also like to thank those who reported the incident to police which allowed officers to work quickly to trace and arrest the man.
“We treat this sort of behaviour very seriously and criminality of any kind will not be tolerated.
