Appeal for information following a crash on the A770 Cloch Road, Gourock

Police Scotland is appealing for information following a crash in Gourock, Inverkip.

The crash happened at around 12.10pm on Thursday, 31 March, 2022 on the A770 Cloch Road and involved a VW Polo.

The 20 year-old male driver and a 20-year -old male passenger were not seriously injured and taken to Royal Alexandria Hospital for treatment. The 19-year old passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police Sergeant Kenny Malaney of the Road Policing Unit said : “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.

“The road was closed for nine hours to allow for accident investigation and local diversions were put in place.

“Anyone with any information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1165 of 31 March, 2022.”
