Appeal following attempted robbery in Ayr
Police in Ayrshire are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Ayr.
The incident happened on River Ayr walk near Mill Street at around 8.30pm on Saturday, 2 April, 2022, when a group of youths were approached by a man and a woman.
The man threatened them with a knife and demanded money and personal belongings from them. The youths ran off without handing anything over and were uninjured.
The man is described as being in his 20s, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with sallow skin. He was wearing a snood, dark clothing, gloves and had his hood up.
The woman is described as being in her 40s, around 5ft 9in tall, of heavier build, with blonde hair and a sunken facial appearance and had a slightly impaired walk. She was wearing a white knee-length parka-type coat, a cream jumper, light-coloured jeans and light-coloured trainers.
Detective Constable Scott Hendry, of Ayr CID, said: “Thankfully none of the youths were injured as a result of this incident
“The area was busy at the time so I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the man and woman matching the description to contact us.
