Police Scotland Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious road crash.
Around 1pm on Saturday 11 September 2021, a black Vauxhall Astra, travelling on the B7078, Carlisle Road near Blackwood, appeared to lose control and left the road, finally coming to rest down an embankment south of Draffan Road.
The 41-year-old male driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the collision. Enquiries carried out so far have established a white car was on the road at the time of the incident and officers are appealing for the driver and occupants of this car to contact them.
The road had to be closed for several hours to allow crash scene investigators access to the site to conduct enquiries.
PC Milloy said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision who have yet to speak to us. In particular, we would like to speak to the occupants of a white vehicle which initially stopped at the scene but drove off before police arrival, we would ask the driver and occupants of this car to contact us.”
Anyone with information or who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 regarding incident 1890 of Saturday 11 September, 2021.
