Serious Assault - Main Street, Prestwick, Ayrshire
Police are appealing for information after a 21-year-old man had his leg broken after being attacked in a public house in Prestwick, Ayrshire, in the early hours of Saturday, 4 September, 2021.
Around 1.40 am on Saturday morning, a disturbance broke out within the Vic and Vine Public House on Main Street, Prestwick, in which the 21-year-old man was pushed and had his leg stamped on. He was assisted by staff who called an ambulance and he was taken to Ayr Hospital where he was treated for a broken leg and has since been discharged.
The suspect for the attack is described as white, 6ft in height, with short dark hair worn in a quiff style. He was wearing a black top and black jeans.
Detective Constable Gordon Thomson, Ayr CID, said:
"This appears to have been an unprovoked attack which has resulted in a serious injury to the young man who had been out with friends enjoying his night.
"Officers have been checking CCTV both inside and outside the pub but are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the disturbance or who maybe recognises the description of the man responsible. We'd particularly like to speak to taxi drivers who were making pick ups at the pub or motorists passing between 1.40 am and 2am. Their information or dash-cam footage may be helpful to our enquiry.
"Information can be passed to officers at Ayr Police Station via 101. Please quote reference number 1232 of Saturday, 4 September, 2021, when calling. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
