Attempted Murder - Whitevale Street, Dennistoun, Glasgow
Police are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a 62-year-old man in the East End of Glasgow on Friday, 10 September, 2021.
Around 8.30 pm on Friday night, the 62-year-old man was walking on Whitevale Street near to Slatefield Street, Dennistoun, when he was attacked by two men. He sustained life changing injuries and remains in Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
The suspects, seen in the company of two women, are described as:
1. White, 40-50 years of age, wearing a black puffer jacket, black trousers and shoes.
2. White, with short brown hair and wearing a black jumper and blue denims.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Kelly, Shettleston CID said:
"This was a horrendous and unprovoked attack on the man. His attackers assaulted him repeatedly before running off.
"The two suspects were in the company of two women, one of whom was wearing a quite distinctive bright yellow jacket.
"From our enquiries so far, we believe the suspects, along with the women, had been on a No 60 First bus coming from Clydebank to Easterhouse and got off in Armadale Street. They then walked along Duke Street before entering Whitevale Street and carrying out the assault.
"Officers have been making enquiries and checking CCTV in the area but are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the attack or who recognises the descriptions of those involved or who has any information that will assist our investigation."
