Appeal for information following report of verbal sexual abuse, Irvine

Officers in Ayrshire are appealing for information after receiving a report of verbal sexual abuse in Irvine.

The incident happened around 9.10am on Tuesday, 28 September, on Woodlands Avenue when men allegedly shouted abuse of a sexual nature at a woman passing by.

Two men, aged 24 and 26, have been arrested in connection with the incident however enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Inspector Stephen McCulloch, of Saltcoats CID, said: "We're appealing to anyone who witnessed this or has any related information about the incident to report it."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2222 of 29 September or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
