Appeal following incidents of wilful fire-raising in Auchinleck
Police are appealing for information following two incidents of wilful fire-raising in Auchinleck.
Around 4.25am on Saturday, 4 September, officers were called to a report of a shed on fire at a property on Church Street.
There were no reports of any injuries however, a vehicle was also damaged during the incident.
Around 4.45am on the same night, officers were called to a report of a fire at a property on Arran Drive.
One man was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment and later released.
Both fires are being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Holland said: “Thankfully no-one was seriously injured as a result of these incidents.
“There is nothing to suggest that these incidents are linked but enquiries are ongoing.
“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch.
“I would also appeal for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV to review it and get in touch if they believe they can assist.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and anyone with concerns are asked to report them to officers.”
