Stolen vehicle from Edinburgh housebreaking incident found in Greendykes area of city.
Further to our earlier appeal seeking the public’s assistance in tracing a stolen Mercedes GLA from an address in Edinburgh, we can confirm that the vehicle has been traced as a direct result of information provided by the public.
The car was stolen during a housebreaking incident which happened at an address on Strachan Road, Edinburgh, at around 10.15pm on Monday, 25 October, 2021.
The vehicle was found shortly before 1.30pm on Tuesday, 26 October, 2021 in the Greendykes Road area. It has been uplifted in order for further enquiries to be conducted.
Detective Inspector George Calder from Edinburgh CID said: “Information we receive from the public is vital in assisting with our investigations and I’d like to thank those who came forward to help our earlier appeal which has meant this vehicle has now been traced.
"Our investigation is ongoing into its theft and I’d continue to ask anyone with information with regards to the housebreaking on Strachan Road to get in touch if you can assist with our enquiries.
“Equally anyone who witnesses, or has dash cam or private CCTV footage of any suspicious driving behaviour, or suspicious activity around properties, should report and provide this to officers so that we can investigate.”
