Fatal road crash - Girvan
Road Policing officers in Ayrshire are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal road crash in Girvan on Friday, 15 October, 2021.
Around 9.20am on Friday morning, a collision occurred between a Renault van and a heavy goods vehicle on Ladywell Avenue near to the junction with the B741. The 64-year-old driver of the van, William Horne from Girvan, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. He died in the hospital on Wednesday, 20 October, 2021. His family is aware. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Craig Beaver, Ayrshire Road Policing, said:
“Our thoughts are very much with Mr Horne's family at this sad time.
"We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and would ask anyone who has not yet come forward with information to get in touch with police. We're also keen to hear from motorists with dash-cam footage from the road between 9.10 am and 9.30 am to come forward.
“Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident 0762 of 15 October.”
