Appeal for information after wilful fire-raising and attempted car thefts, Craigneuk, Airdrie
Detectives are appealing for information after a wilful fire-raising and attempted car thefts in the Craigneuk area of Airdrie in the early hours of Sunday, 3 October, 2021.
Around 2.30am police were called to a report of a car set on fire in Maple Quadrant.
Emergency services attended and found there had also been attempts to break in to four vehicles in the street.
Detective Sergeant Lorraine Wilson from Coatbridge CID said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and I am appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
“If you were in the area of Maple Quadrant in the early hours of Sunday morning, and saw anyone acting suspiciously, please get in touch.
“I would also urge any motorists with dash-cams who were travelling through at the time to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.
