Appeal following wilful fire raising in Coatbridge

Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Coatbridge.


The incident took place around 8pm on Tuesday, 26th October, 2021 when a man set fire to a black Mercedes 4x4 on Bankhead Avenue.


The suspect is described as a man dressed in dark clothing.


Detective David Williamson, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Thankfully the fires were safely extinguished and there were no injuries as a result.


“We are appealing to anyone with information on the incident and to any motorists in the area at that time that may have dash-cam footage.
