Appeal following break-in and car theft, Kilwinning
Officers are appealing for information after a house was broken into and a car stolen in the Kilwinning area yesterday.
The theft took place on Birklands Wynd, in the early hours of Thursday, 7 October.
Enquiries have established that the suspect spent some hours in the surrounding areas before breaking into a house and stealing the key to a white BMW 218i Luxury (SF65 ZYN), before driving away in the stolen car.
The suspect is described as being a white man, with a slim build. He was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, blue jeans and a white face mask.
Detective Constable Robbie McIntosh, from Saltcoats CID, said: “We’re appealing to anyone with information on this incident, or possible CCTV footage, to please come forward.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind residents to by extra vigilant with their home and vehicle security at all times.
