Falkirk man sentenced for sexual offences
Garry McDonald (42) has been sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh today, Wednesday, 24 November 2021, for a number of serious sexual offences.
McDonald from Falkirk, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and has been placed on the Sex Offender’s Register.
He was found guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh on 22, October 2021 for the offences, including serious sexual assaults, which were committed against two men in the Falkirk and Denny areas in 2019.
Detective Inspector Craig Faulds from Forth Valley’s Public Protection Unit said: “McDonald systematically deceived his male victims and subjected them to serious sexual assaults, without their consent.
"I would like to thank the victims and their families for their assistance during this inquiry. It is very difficult to speak about these types of crimes and both men have showed immense courage during this investigation. I hope that McDonald’s sentencing can bring them some solace in that the person responsible for these despicable actions has been held to account and they can now move forward with their lives.
“This conviction should send out a clear message that Police Scotland is committed to bringing the perpetrators of sexual offences to justice, while providing all the relevant support and assistance to those that require it.”
