Serious road crash in Union Grove, Aberdeen
Road Policing Officers are appealing for information after a serious road crash involving a car and an off-road motorbike in Aberdeen on Thursday, 27 May, 2021.
Around 4pm on Thursday afternoon, a 30-year-old man was driving his Mercedes GLA on Union Grove, near to its junction with Granton Place, when it was involved in a collision with an off-road motorcycle being driven by a 31-year-old man.
Police and Ambulance attended and the 31-year-old man was taken by Ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable. The 30-year-old man was also taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and later released.
Constable Lorcan Thame of the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Inverurie said: “Our investigation is ongoing to establish the cause of this crash and we are appealing for any witnesses, who have not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
“From initial enquiries, we have been told that there were a number of off-road motorbikes being driven round the local area at the time of the crash and we are working to trace the other riders. We have been speaking to witnesses and viewing CCTV footage to gather more details on the circumstances surrounding this crash.
“Anyone who was in the area who witnessed the crash, or who has any information on the off-road bikes or saw them being driven nearby is asked to contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 2237 of 27 May.”
