Man charged after £108,000 worth of drugs recovered near Carstairs
Officers in Lanarkshire have recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of £108,000, during a routine patrol yesterday (Saturday, 8 May, 2021).
Around 8.05pm, officers stopped a grey Toyota Avensis at the Harelaw Roundabout on the A721, Carstairs. As a result of the recovery, a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is expected to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court tomorrow (Monday, 10 May).
Inspector Steven Conn, of Lanarkshire Police Division, said: “I’d like to commend the good work of our officers who initially pulled the vehicle over as it was being driven in an erratic manner. Thanks to their good instincts and judgement, we’ve now removed a significant quantity of illegal drugs from the streets.
