Dogs rescued and drugs recovered in joint operation between Police Scotland and Scottish SPCA
A joint operation between local officers from Ayrshire Police Division and the Scottish SPCA led to the rescue 14 dogs and the discovery of Class B drugs.
Around 9.30am on Tuesday, 4 May, a search warrant was executed at an address in Logan Gate Terrace, Logan.
During the course of the search, 14 dogs were rescued and a quantity of Class B Drugs, believed to be cannabis, were seized.
A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences. He was released on an undertaking to appear before Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.
A separate report will be submitted by the Scottish SPCA in relation to the rescued dogs in due course.
Inspector Julie McLeish of Cumnock Police Office said: “This operation was the result of a well-planned and coordinated approach between the Scottish SPCA and Police Scotland which has led to a number of dogs being rescued, as well as disrupting further drug supply and the impact it can have within the local community.
