Appeal for information following fire in Glasgow
Police in Glasgow are appealing for witnesses after a fire at a derelict premises in the city centre.
Officers were called to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at around 1.35am on Tuesday, 4 May, 2021, who were responding to a fire at a derelict premises above the Old College Bar on High Street.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and officers remain at the scene. Nobody was injured as a result of the fire but it has caused significant damage to the building.
Detective Constable Neil Bonsor, of Stewart Street CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The blaze has caused significant damage to the building's structure.
“We would urge anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, and who saw any suspicious behaviour to contact us.
“Anyone with information that could assist our investigation should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0119 of 4 May. Alternatively a report can be made to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
