Appeal after man assaulted in Paisley Road West
Officers are appealing for information following a serious assault on Wednesday, 12 May, 2021.
Around 8pm, police received a report a man had been assaulted in Paisley Road West. Emergency services attended and the 57-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to a head injury. Medical staff describe his condition as serious.
The male suspect is Asian, in his late teens to early 20s, with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded tracksuit top with white stripes down the sleeves and a small white emblem on the left side of the chest, dark jogging trousers and dark coloured trainers. He ran off up Paisley Road West towards Cessnock subway station.
Officers are checking CCTV footage for any additional information which could assist their enquiries.
Detective Constable Alastair Taylor said: “I appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have any information to contact us. This is a busy road with a lot of traffic and I would ask motorists with dash cam to check their footage as they could have captured an image of the suspect or the incident. Any small piece of information could prove useful in our investigation.”
