Appeal after elderly pedestrian injured in road traffic crash, Greenock
Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash with a car in Greenock on Sunday, 23 May, 2021.
The 91-year-old man was injured following a collision with a white Ford Fiesta which was being driven west on Union Street just after 11am.
Emergency services attended and the 91-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains receiving treatment. The driver of the car, an 80-year-old man, was uninjured and assisted police at the scene.
The road was closed until around 1.30pm.
Sergeant John Bradford from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We’re investigating the circumstances of this collision and would ask anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“Anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage of the pedestrian or vehicle immediately prior to, or during, the incident, is asked to provide this to officers to help our investigation.”
