Two men arrested following serious assault, Racecourse Road, Ayr

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Ayr on Monday, 8 February, 2021.

The incident occurred around 7am, when a 29-year old man was assaulted on Racecourse Road.

A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear before Ayr Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 31 March,

A 20-year-old man was also arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He was released on an undertaking to appear before Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.

Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Local Area Commander for South Ayrshire said:

“I am aware of the concern this incident caused within the local community and would like to thank everyone who assisted with our enquiries.
