Serious road crash on Kirkshaws Road, Coatbridge
Officers at the Road Policing Unit in Motherwell are appealing for witnesses after a serious road crash in Coatbridge on Tuesday, 2 March.
Around 11.40am on Tuesday morning, a 39-year-old man was crossing Kirkshaws Road, at its junction with North Road in Coatbridge, when he was struck by a lorry.
Police and Ambulance attended and the 39-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as critical.
The 48-year-old driver of the lorry was uninjured.
Sergeant Craig McDonald from the Road Policing Unit based at Motherwell is appealing for any witnesses. He said: “I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time, who witnessed the crash to contact us as they may have information that will assist our investigation. I would also ask any drivers with dash-cam footage of the incident to come forward too.”
