Appeal for witnesses following wilfull fireraising, St Andrews Road, Glasgow
Officers in Glasgow are appealing for information after a wilful fireraising in Polloksheilds.
Around 3am on Tuesday, 23 March, a white coloured car was reversed at speed into the glass front of premises on St Andrews Road. Three men exited the vehicle and set a fire within the building resulting in significant damage to the both the property and the car.
It is believed the three men ran off from the scene to a waiting car nearby on St Andrews Road.
The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue service. Nobody was hurt during the incident.
Enquires are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Inspector Craig Warren of Glasgow CID said: “This was a reckless and dangerous act of wilful fireraising which thankfully has not resulted in anyone getting hurt.
“We believe this was a targeted attack and we are keen to trace those responsible as soon as possible.
“Three men were seen to run away from the incident to a waiting car and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time that this happened and saw anything which could help out investigations.
“Likewise, anyone who was driving in the area and had any dashcam footage which can help enquiries, please get in touch.”
