Royal College of Defence Studies makes visit to SPC Tulliallan
Police Scotland has this week (Wednesday, 30 June, 2021) hosted a visit by members of the Royal College of Defence Studies at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan.
The study group, which was made up of delegates from 22 different countries, was hosted by Deputy Chief Constable Will Kerr and the International Development and Innovation Unit (IDIU).
Senior officers, including ACC Hawkins, delivered presentations on policing a modern Scotland, strategic leadership principles and a Divisional Commander's view of the importance of partnership working at a local level.
DCC Kerr said: "Welcoming this group is a significant moment for Police Scotland as the first study visit since the coronavirus outbreak began. Significant efforts were taken to ensure the meetings took place in a COVID-safe manner.
"The delegates were extremely enthusiastic and posed numerous well-considered points to our team during in-depth question and answer sessions.
"The sharing of experience and knowledge, both with and from, colleagues from across a variety of disciplines and professional sectors is an invaluable resource for Police Scotland, and is an approach we are keen to replicate as much as possible in the future, not least through the new Police Scotland International Academy, which will be formally launched later this summer."
