Man and woman arrested in connection with a fatal road crash on B792 in September, 2020

Officers have arrested a 36-year old man and a 36-year old woman in connection with a fatal crash which happened on B792 between Bathgate and Torphichen on Sunday, 20 September, 2020.

George Robertson, 53, was walking home when he was struck by a vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he died a short time later.

The man and woman have been released pending further enquiry and officers have recovered a vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn of the Road Policing Unit said: “Extensive enquiries continue to be conducted as we seek answers for George’s loved ones. This is a significant development in the investigation and our thoughts remain with his family and friends.”
