High value wilful fire-raising - Renfrew
Police are appealing for information after three lorries were deliberately set alight and vandalised at a business premises in Renfrew on Thursday, 28 January, 2021.
Around 7.20 pm, police were called after three Hiab lorries were targeted; two were deliberately set alight and one was vandalised; in the yard of a scaffolding company in Sandyford Road, Renfrew. The cost of the damage is estimated to run into six figures.
No one was in the yard at the time and no one was injured.
Detective Inspector Ian Ross, Paisley CID, said:
"Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the area and are checking CCTV from the premises. Two young men, wearing casual clothing, possibly tracksuits, are seen climbing over the fence and in to the yard before exiting and running from Sandyford Road towards Paisley Road, Renfrew.
"The road has a couple of other business premises but leads on to Paisley Road which can be busy at that time of the night. I would ask that anyone who has any information that will assist our enquiries, including that of dash-cam footage from the street between 7 pm and 7.20 pm, contact Paisley CID via 101.
