Serious assault – Main Road, Springside, Irvine
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious facial injuries in an attack in the Springside area of Irvine on Wednesday, 24 February, 2021.
Around 9.25pm a 40-year-old man was on Main Road when he was assaulted by a group of up to six other men.
The victim managed to make his way home before calling an ambulance.
He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment and later released.
One of the suspects is described as wearing a white jumper and another was wearing light jeans with white boxer shorts visible underneath.
A white jeep-style vehicle is believed to have been involved in this incident.
Detective Constable Will Thomson from Saltcoats CID said: “The assault happened in the car park outside a shop, which would have been busy at the time with pedestrians and motorists.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, noticed a white jeep-style vehicle or anything at all suspicious, to get in touch.
“I would also urge any motorists with dash-cams who were in the area to please check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.
