Debris on M77 and M8 motorways-Glasgow
Officers are appealing for witnesses following an incident on the M77 and M8 motorways earlier today, Friday, 5 February, 2021. Around 9am,the the northbound lane on the M77 at J1 Dumbreck through to the northbound carriageway of the M8 near to J19 Charing Cross had a large quantity of debris, in the form of rocks, bricks and soil deposited on it from a vehicle travelling on these roads. A number of vehicles collided with this debris causing damage to them. The roads were closed to allow the safe clearing of the debris and vehicles and diversions were put in place.
Constable Alan Musgrave of Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit said: "I am appealing to any drivers who may have been on these roads and who may have witnessed anything which might help us. I would also ask anyone who was in a vehicle fitted with a dash-cam to check the device to see if it has captured any footage which might assist us. Callers should use the 101 number and quote the reference 0687 of 5 February."
