Appeal following serious road crash on the A78, north of St Fillan’s Bridge, Largs
Road Policing officers in Ayrshire are appealing for witnesses following a serious road crash on the A78, north of St Fillan’s Bridge, Largs.
The incident happened around 10.55pm on Friday, 29 January, 2021, and involved a blue Ford Fusion car and a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old man, the pedestrian, was taken to the Inverclyde Royal Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains. The 26-year-old female driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed and diversions put in place whilst officers carried out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash. The road re-opened around 3am.
Sergeant Ian Thornton, of Ayrshire Division’s Road Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the crash or were driving in the area around the time of the crash to come forward. I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch."
