Serious road traffic crash – A85, near Methven
Road Policing Officers are appealing for information after a serious road traffic crash involving two cars on the A85 near Methven on Monday, 6 December, 2021.
Around 9.30pm on Monday evening, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving a Vauxhall Astra and a Honda Jazz on the A85 near to Methven Castle.
Police and ambulance attended and the 22-year-old driver of the Vauxhall Astra and his 18-year-old male passenger were taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital. Hospital staff describe the condition of the 22-year-old man as critical. The 18-year-old man’s condition is described as stable.
The 32-year-old female driver of the Honda Jazz and a 7-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the car, were both taken to Ninewells Hospital to be checked over.
The road was closed while officers carried out their investigation. The road re-opened at 7.30am on Tuesday, 7 December, 2021.
Sergeant John Learmonth from Perth Road Policing Department said: “Our investigation into this collision is continuing and I would appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, or anyone with information, to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone driving on this road at the time of the crash or just before it took place who has dash-cam footage to speak to officers as this may assist our enquiry.”
