Officers in West Lothian appeal for information following a theft by housebreaking in Bathgate

Officers in West Lothian are appealing for information following a theft by housebreaking in Bathgate.

Around 3.45pm on Friday, 10 December, two men forced entry to a property on Malcolm Court and keys to a blue Peugeot 108 were stolen. The vehicle was then stolen from the driveway of the property.

The car stolen is described as being an electric blue coloured Peugeot 108 with a black zig zag pattern, registration number SB21YLD.

Following enquiries we believe that the vehicle was in the Whiteside area shortly after.

The first man is described as white, of heavy build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black snood, dark jacket, dark gloves, dark jeans and grey trainers with white soles.

The second man is described as white of slim build. He was wearing a black jacket, black tammy hat with white logo on the front, dark jeans and black trainers.

One of the men spoke with a Liverpool accent.

Detective Constable Adam Gow of West Lothian CID said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information or who may live in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious to contact police immediately."

“I would also urge anyone who may have seen this vehicle since Friday afternoon to contact police as soon as possible.

“Likewise, if anyone was in the area and recording via dash-cam footage, CCTV or doorbell cameras I would encourage you to check your footage for anything of relevance.

“Although the property was secure, I would also like to take this opportunity to remind homeowners to review their security- make sure to keep your doors and windows locked at all times.”
