Officers appeal following break-ins in the Borders
Officers are appealing for information after a business was broken into near Jedburgh, and an attempt at another business was made in St Boswells overnight.
Around 6.15am on Sunday, 19 December, officers were called to Born in Scotland, Jedburgh, following a report that a premises had been broken into through the night and a quantity of cash stolen.
Later that morning, around 10.50am, it was reported that a garage on St Boswells Green in St Boswells had sustained damage to its windows following an attempted break-in, also overnight.
These incidents are believed to be linked at this time.
Detective Constable Liam Myers, Galashiels CID said:
“This type of crime is incredibly thoughtless and devastating at any time of year, never mind so close to Christmas. It is vital that we trace those responsible.
“This is a rural area however we are appealing for anyone who was in the area, either walking or driving, and may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary either late last night, or early this morning, to get in touch with us.
